Iran to facilitate access to Persian Gulf waters
Tehran, July 4, IRNA – Minister of Road and Transportation Hamid Behbahani said Sunday Iran will facilitate the Central Asian states’ access to the Persian Gulf waters.
Behbahani made the remark in a meeting with the Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade Elyor Ganiyev.
Further, Behbahani met and conferred with the Uzbek First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Rustam Azimov on ways to promote economic cooperation.
The meetings with the Uzbek officials were held in the capital city of Tashkent during which the two sides held talks on expansion of bilateral relations.Azimov also called for lowering trade tariffs.
Iran’s road and transportation minister arrived in Tashkent on July 1 to discuss with the Uzbek officials the issues of mutual interest./end
