Zanjan province declares sisterhood with Malaysian Malakai province

Kuala Lumpur, July 4, IRNA -- Iranian Zanjan province and the Malaysian province of Malakai declared sisterhood on Saturday.
Iranian and Malaysian officials signed an agreement on the sisterhood in Malaysia.
Talking to IRNA regional office in Kuala Lumpur, Zanjan province deputy governor general for planning affairs, Ali Karimi, confirmed the sisterhood declaration between the two provinces and said that Malakai is one of the ancient provinces of Malaysia.
Zanjan and Malakai became sister provinces under the agreement signed between Iran-Malaysia Commerce Council, Iran-Malaysia Trade Center and Zanjan Municipality in a ceremony attended by Iran’s ambassador to Malaysia and the Zanjan governor general.
Based on the agreement, Zanjan will benefit exporting advantages in Malaysia, Karimi said.
He further noted that Zanjan Governorate General will launch a trade center in Malaysia in a bid to promote exports to Malaysia and other countries.
A 22-member delegation comprising Zanjani businessmen, officials and investors actively participated at Halal Food Exhibition held in Malaysia, he said./end
