Russia: Group 5+1 ready for talk with Iran

Moscow, July 4, IRNA – Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Saturday and referring to the meeting of political directors of Group 5+1 in Brussels to discuss Iran’s nuclear program, pointed out that all members of the Group are ready for negotiation with Iran.
The statement, by referring to presence of Russian Deputy Minister in Foreign Affairs Sergey Ryabkov, who was Russian senior negotiator in nuclear affairs of G 5+1 meeting on Friday in Brussels, noted that the issue of Iran’s nuclear program was discussed in detail by considering the new resolution of the UN Security Council.
It said that all participants in the meeting expressed their countries' commitment to and efforts for solving Iran’s nuclear program through diplomatic ways and their readiness for talk with Iran, including the issue of providing nuclear fuel for Tehran Research Reactor.
The statement also referred to the meeting between political directors of G 5+1 Foreign Ministries with EU High Representative for Foreign Policy Catherine Ashton and their discussion about holding next meeting of the members of G 5+1 with Iran.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Andrei Nesterenko, in a press conference in Moscow last Thursday, underlined Russia opposition with the US unilateral sanctions against Iran./end
