Hockeyroos too good against Ireland
A goal to Australian striker Emily Hurtz in the dying stages of the match has handed
the Hockeyroos consecutive wins over Ireland.
The second game of the three-match series was extremely congested, with Australia
finding it almost impossible to penetrate the home side's defence.
And when the visitors were able to enter Ireland's circle poor execution meant the
Australians did not make the most of their opportunities, keeping Ireland in the
match. However in the 67th minute, on their sixth penalty corner of the match,
Australia got reward for their effort with Hurtz finally securing the conversion.
Australia also won the first game 1-0.
