Telecommunications ministers laud Council's 14th round results
SANA'A, July 02 (Saba)- The participating Arab ministers of telecommunications and other delegations in the 14th round of the Telecommunications and Information Council of Ministers, concluded
on Thursday in Sana'a, praised Friday the positive results of the round.
Upon departure, they expressed their satisfaction with the recommendations of the
round, affirming the importance of implementing them in order to improve the
telecommunications
sector in the Arab world.
The Sudanese Minister of Telecommunications Yahya Mohammed affirmed the importance
of the decisions and recommendations coming out from the round, noting the
necessity to
translate them on the ground to embody the Arab common work.
The Tunisian Minister of Technology and Telecommunications Mohammed Ammar pointed
out to the good results of the round which support relations and partnership of the
Arab
countries and lessen the digital gap.
For his part, Director General of the Telecommunications Regularity Authority of
the UAE Mohammed al-Ghanim asserted that the meeting was successful by all
standards and
came out with a number of important results representing the Arab solidarity.
For her part, Supervisor of the Telecommunications and Information Technology at
the Arab League Jamilah Matar pointed out to the valuable results topped by the
approval
of the initiative of the International Association to hold a telecommunications
summit to start in Doha in 2011.
Chairperson of the Arab Organization for Telecommunication and Information Khadija
al-Gharyani affirmed that the meeting was successful and also came up with the
election
of new council members for the Organization.
The Palestinian Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology Mashhour
Abu-Daqa emphasized that the preparations for the meeting were excellent
facilitating
work of the participants.
Other Arab ministers and delegations taking part in the meeting also left Sana'a on
Friday praising results and recommendations of the round.
