Euro-Asian region needs deep integration to improve life of people.
ASTANA, July 1 (Itar-Tass) - The Euro-Asian region needs deep
integration to improve life of billions of people. This statement was made
on Thursday by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, speaking at the
third Astana Economic Forum.
"I'm a convinced supporter for deep and consistent integration
processes in the Euro-Asian subcontinent and believe that it is necessary
to work out a single document, reflecting key principles and directions of
the Euro-Asian integration," he emphasised.
In Nazarbayev's opinion, one of such directions should be "development
of trade and opening of borders" so as to make movement of goods cheaper
and quicker what we are doing now in the Customs Union".
Besides, the president reckons, it is necessary for the development of
integration processes "to develop transport infrastructure", "to create a
favourable investment climate inside the continent" as well as common
capital markets, development and search for new alternative energy sources
and development of human resources.
"The question of Euro-Asian integration is a thing of time, and this
is a necessity for the development of all the Euro-Asian continent and
improvement of life of million and billions of people, living in this
continent. Kazakhstan, located in the centre of the continent, can be
initiator and coordinator of Euro-Asian integration," Nazarbayev summed up.
This year, the annual Astana Economic Forum gathered over 2,000
members of the political and business communities from over 50 countries
as well as leading scholars and Nobel Prize winners.
