RI-CHINA RELATIONS IN VARIOUS FIELDS GROWING CONTINUOUSLY

Beijing, July 19 (ANTARA) - Indonesia and China have continuously increased their bilateral cooperation based on a strategic partnership agreement in the political, economic, social and cultural fields signed in 2005, Indonesia's Deputy Chief of Mission Mohammad Oemar said.

"Bilateral cooperation in various fields have continued to increase since both countries restored diplomatic ties in 1990 and signed a strategic partnership agreement in April, 2005," he said here on Saturday.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his Chinese counterpart President Hu Jintao signed a partnership agreement in Jakarta in April 2005. Over the past three years, the partnership agreement had allowed bilateral relations in various fields to grow rapidly.

Exchange of visits between the two countries' officials and businessmen to explore cooperation in many fields had also continued to increase of late, he said.

He cited as an example the visit to China this week by the governor and businessmen of Central Java to hold a business forum and invite Chinese investors to Central Java.

Oemar said besides Indonesia's central government, the country's regional administrations also showed goring interest in cooperation with China.

"As one of the fruits of regional autonomy, Central Java is now aggressively opening itself to Chinese investors," he said.
