UNIDO`S DIRECTOR GENERAL VISITS AZERBAIJAN DIPLOMATIC ACADEMY
Baku, July 1 (AzerTAc). Director General of UN Industrial Development Organization Kandeh K. Yumkella delivered report on global development trends at Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy.
Mr. Yumkella said needs in energy permanently grow, and population rapidly increases, in particular in Africa and Asia.
UN official representative said needs in energy will increase by 40-45% to 2030. A population of Africa reached 1.3 billion and rational use of energy and water resources are important factors to date, said Mr. Yumkella.
On Azerbaijan`s development, Mr. Yumkella praised its contribution to the world`s energy market and joining to Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (EITI).
