Peace, Justice sculpture presented to President Ahmadinejad

Tehran, June 30, IRNA – A sculpture titled “Peace and Justice” was presented to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday.
Peace envoys from Vietnam, Japan, Belgium and Iraq presented the sculpture to the President in Tehran during a special ceremony to commerate the victims of chemical and microbiological weapons.
June 29 is dubbed as the National Day of Campaign against Use of Chemical and Microbiological Weapons in Iran.
It coincides with the anniversary of chemical attacks by the toppled Saddam Hussein regime (Iraq) against the Iranian city of Sardasht which caused a massacre.
Governor of the city of Halabche, a representative of the Japanese embassy in Tehran, a representative from a Belgium non-governmental organization and the ambassador of Vietnam to Iran presented the sculpture to President Ahmadinejad.
The President, too, presented a sculpture on peace to the above-mentioned people.
A number of Vietnamese war veterans who fought against the US invasion of their country, survivors of Hiroshima atomic attack, survivors of chemical attack against Halabche and a number of people inflicted by chemical weapons used against the city of Sardasht were also present in the ceremony./end
