TURKISH INFORMATICS SECTOR EXPECTED TO GROW 6.5% IN 2010 SAYS "TOP 500 ICT COMPANIES" SURVEY

ANKARA (A.A) - 29.06.2010 - Turkey's informatics sector is expected to grow 6.5% in 2010, according to the "Top 500 Informatics and Communication Companies" survey.
The survey conducted by Interpro Research Services Co., a private survey company, said the sector which contracted 12.6% in 2009 was estimated to grow 6.5% and reach USD 26.2 billion.
According to the survey; the software market grew 5.6% with the document management software market recording a 40% remarkable growth in 2009.
Turkey's largest fixed line operator Turktelekom ranked top with an annual turnover of 10.6 billion TL, followed by GSM operators Turkcell with 8.9 billion TL in second place and Vodafone in 3rd place with 2.5 billion TL and Avea in 4th place with 2.5 billion TL in 2009. (1 USD equals 1.582 TL)
Superonline which increases its turnover from 66.5 million to 237.5 million TL in the last three years was chosen the "Best Performing ICT in the last three years", while Promer, a company from Izmir, which boosted its total turnover from 841,000 TL to 12 million TL was chosen the "Fastest Growing Company in 2009".
