SEVERAL EVENTS OF MONGOLIANS RUN IN USA
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Many events dedicated to Mongolia have run in Washington D.C, the USA,
co-organized June 25-27 by the Embassy of Mongolia in the USA, the Mongolian Cultural Center in Washington and the Union of Mongolians in Washington D.C.
The actions were opened with a 4th conference of Mongolian studies in Washington D.C. Reports were delivered by Mongolian researches from the Mongolian State University of Education, the Commercial Chamber for Mongolians in the USA, the U.S universities of Washington, Los Angeles, North Carolina and the University of Indiana.
A consultative meeting of management of Mongolian organizations in the USA was held bringing together representatives of 14 organizations from Washington D.C, Los Angeles, Missouri and Chicago. The main aim of the conference was to realize the initiative of uniting U.S-based all unions, organizations, alliances, groups and clubs of Mongolians. The idea was sounded at the Great Session of Mongolians in the USA held in 2009 in Denver city. The gathered discussed a creating of a unified organization to oblige it to protect interests of the Mongolian organizations in the USA, and then set up the Alliance of the U.S Mongolians. The Union of Mongolians in Washington took an obligation to expand activities of the Alliance and its membership.
A forum of sports people was the third big measure. Sh.Baasansuren from Washington gave a report themed “Development of sports games held among U.S Mongolians and its tendency”. Then, the attendees exchanged views on establishing professional federations for the sports which are developed among Mongolians, on granting sports titles and degrees pursuant to the Mongolian standards and on supporting Mongolian children in gaining successes at sports.
A small competition of Mongolian national wrestling took place in Washington with participation of wrestlers with state titles. D.Ragchaa who has “Zaan” title (Elephant) became a winner. During the festival, D.Sambuu, a People's Artist, and B.Otgonchimeg, a dancer of the “Jamukh” Ensemble, gave a concert.
