Iran sends letters to UNSC member states

Tehran, June 29, IRNA – Iran sent separate letters to members of the United Nations Security Council over the council's latest anti-Iran resolution, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said Tuesday.

“The letters are sent and will be received within coming days,” Mottaki said in a meeting with officials and editors-in-chief of Iran’s state news agency, IRNA.

He is currently visiting IRNA headquarters in Tehran.

The minister said further details about the letters would be published in a near future.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast had said last week that Tehran would send protest letters to yes-voters of UNSC Resolution 1929.

The anti-Iran resolution was adopted on June 9 by a vote of 12 in favor to 2 against (Brazil, Turkey), and 1 abstention (Lebanon).

It was ratified under severe pressures of the US and the Zionist lobby.
