Underbelly goes out with a bang



Underbelly has gone out with a bang for another season, while Dancing With The Stars
waltzed its way to another solid ratings start on a night of tough competition on
Australian television.
Nine's gangland crime drama, which debuted with 2.2 millions viewers in April,
attracted an audience of 1.8 million for its finale on Sunday night.
It was the most watched program of the night, easily winning the 8.30pm timeslot.
MasterChef Australia was the second most watched program with 1.78 million viewers.
Underbelly: The Golden Mile, the third instalment in the crime drama franchise, was
up against Ten's The Good Wife, which only managed 843,000 viewers.
It also competed with the last half-hour of Dancing with the Stars and the first
half hour of Seven's Sunday night movie Death at a Funeral which had a total of
749,000 viewers.
Dancing with the Stars, which returned for its 10th season in the 6.30pm Sunday
timeslot on Seven, pulled 1.42 million viewers across its two-and-a-half-hour show.
It was the fifth most watched show of the evening.
Nine's new observational reality series RBT also premiered to solid ratings,
attracting 1.32 million viewers in its 7pm timeslot.
The network's nightly news also edged out Seven's at 6pm, attracting 1.689 million
viewers to Seven's 1.570 million.
