AZERI PREMIER GIVES HIGH ASSESSMENT TO WFP`S ACTIVITY IN COUNTRY
Baku, 19 July,(AzerTAj) - Prime Minister of the Azerbaijan Republic Artur Rasizade on 18 July received the World Food Program`s (WFP) Country Director Lynne Miller on completion of her mission in Azerbaijan.
Speaking of the 15-year long activity of the WFP Representation in Azerbaijan, Mr.
Rasizade highly assessed its activity aimed at improvement of the plight of refugees
and expressed gratitude to the leadership of the international organization for
humanitarian assistance rendered to the vulnerable and homeless people. As stated,
the WFP has distributed 165 tons ($115 million) of food in the country.
Ms. Lynne Miller, in turn, noted the transparency provided by the Azerbaijan
government in these activities. It was, according to her, this aspect that ensured
success of the assistance program. She therefore thanked the Azerbaijan State
Committee on Refugees and IDPs for close cooperation.
