G8 leaders to end summit in Huntsville to continue talks in Toronto.

TORONTO, June 26 (Itar-Tass) -- A G8 summit, the shortest one in the
history of G8 meetings, ends on Saturday in the Canadian town of
Hantsville.
The G8 leaders, however, will continue talks at a broader G20 summit
on Sunday in Toronto, some 220 kilometers off Hantsville. The G20 summit
will focus mainly on economic issues.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, G8 leaders will continue their discussions of
key international security issues, including non-proliferation, Iran's and
North Korean nuclear programs, and anti-terrorism efforts.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will meet with Japanese and Italian
Prime Ministers, Naoto Kan and Silvio Berlusconi.

.US poultry will soon be back on Russian market - Russia's chief
sanitarian.

HUNTSVILLE, June 26 (Itar-Tass) -- U.S.-produced poultry will be back
on the Russian market in the nearest future, head of Russia's consumer
rights watchdog Gennady Onishchenko told a briefing on Friday.
"As soon as American manufacturers say their poultry is produced
without employing chlorine-containing substances while refrigerating and
Russia's Ministry of Agriculture confirms it in a special certificate,
poultry will be ready for being shipped to Russia. Transportation by sea
will take another two to three weeks, then after customs formalities in
St. Petersburg, where the U.S. poultry is generally destined, it will be
available to be enjoyed by Russian consumers," he said in ironic comment
of the Russian-U.S. memorandum signed during Russian President Dmitry
Medvedev's talks in Washington.
According to Onishchenko, Russia has offered U.S. producers 12 various
poultry treatment technologies not using chlorine. "It is up to them to
choose any of the 12," he added.
He refused however to estimate possible volumes of poultry to be
supplied to the Russian market, saying only that previously a regular
annual quota neared 600,000 tons. "Now we produce 2.3 to 2.4 million tons
of poultry ourselves and will produce even more," he noted.
In his words, the talks on the subject were so protracted due to the
stand taken by U.S. officials. "Yet again I see that it is much easier to
speak with businessmen than with red tape. American producers were willing
and ready to shift to Russian technologies back in February. But red tape
from the U.S. agricultural authorities and the Department of State got in
the way," he said.

.RF, Armenian police chiefs to discuss tracing criminals, economic
security.

YEREVAN, June 26 (Itar-Tass) -- Russia's and Armenia's police chiefs,
Rashid Nurgaliyev and Alik Sargsyan, will meet here on Saturday to discuss
joint efforts in tracing criminals and ensuring economic security.
"The Russian Interior Ministry and Armenian police maintain systemic
cooperation relations. For many years, we have been working successfully
in all areas of law enforcement activities," Nurgaliyev told journalists,
adding that issues on the Saturday meeting's agenda were pressing for both
countries.
In his words, law enforcement agencies of the two countries are taking
active participation in the Rozysk (Search) interstate operations taken
several time a year within the CIS states. Thus, in March 2010, Russian
police detained 23 suspects wanted in Armenia.
"One of the basic cooperation areas is exchange of information that
might be useful to spot criminals," he said. "Of much help is an
interstate information bank, which is being set up."
Apart from it, the sides will discuss joint efforts to fight economic
crimes. "In recent years, economic cooperation between our states has been
increasing, trade turnover has been growing, and it is a very attractive
factor for criminals," Nurgaliyev noted and added that Russian and
Armenian police had accumulated a vast experience in counteracting
economic crimes.
