Prince Charles grills Aussie music fan
Prince Charles asked a young Aussie music fan whether he was an illegal immigrant
during a visit to the Glastonbury Festival.
Nick Wardle, 22, introduced himself when the prince made a visit to the Somerset
site of the iconic music festival on Thursday, The Daily Mirror reports.
The young Australian approached Prince Charles and said: "Hello mate, I'm Nick from
Australia. I'm working at the festival."
Prince Charles replied: "I would never have guessed. I hope you have a permit to
work over here."
A shocked Nick replied, "Yes I do mate," but later saw the light side of it.
"The prince is a top bloke. I thought it was funny. For a second I thought he was
going to lock me in the tower," he said.
A nearby female fan said the incident caused a lot of amusement among nearby revellers.
"It was hilarious, the prince looked him up and down and basically accused him of
being an illegal immigrant."
Australian icon Rolf Harris will officially open the festival on Friday, while Kylie
Minogue is due to take the stage with the Scissor Sisters on Saturday night.
