TURKEY-IRAN MoU ON HEALTH TO BE ADVANTAGEOUS, HEALTH MINISTER SAYS
TEHRAN (A.A) – 25.06.2010 - Turkish Health Minister Recep Akdag said on Friday that a memorandum of understanding signed between Turkey and Iran on health would be advantegous for the two countries and the region.
Commenting on the memorandum of understanding that was signed on Thursday, Akdag said Turkey and Iran could cooperate in many areas in health.
"Turkey and Iran are very similar to each other with respect to their population, money spent on health and indicators of health," Akdag said.
Akdag said Turkey could make use of Iran's success in bringing health services and medical education and in decreasing expenses for medicine.
Iranian Health Minister Marzieh Vahid Dastjerdi said the memorandum of understanding was a new start in health area, adding that cooperation of Turkey and Iran on health would also be in the benefit of the region.
Dastjerdi underlined that Turkey and Iran were the countries marking noteworthy success in medicine and health.
The memorandum of understanding includes exchange of information and experts.
