PREMIER ADDRESSES INTENSIVE TRAINING-SEMINAR
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Under auspices of the Prime Minister of Mongolia S.Batbold, a three-day professional level intensive training-seminar themed "Commercial policy based on evidence and methods of talks for joining Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement" began Wednesday in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is co-organized by this Ministry and the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).
The Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement (APTA) is open for all developing countries, who are members of the UNESCAP, to join it. The APTA is a preferential and multilateral agreement with aims to ensure the economic growth by developing mutually beneficial free trade and to develop cooperation.
The Premier S.Batbold delivered a speech at the opening of the training-seminar. He thanked the event's organizers and emphasized that Mongolia needs to introduce a principle of adhering to evidence for making any decision to become a member of the APTA.
"In order to bring Mongolia's democracy and market economy into a higher level, we ought to maintain open, stable, comprehensible and systematic development policy. A policy and its decisions must be discussed openly from many sides based on actual evidence instead of doing it based on dream list, views or approximations. So, it is need to renovate our thinking of tendency to work," Batbold said.
The Premier pointed out that if Mongolia joins the APTA, kinds and amount of products made in Mongolia will increase. Proper conditions will be created for Mongolia to actively participate in regional trade and economic collaboration and to develop its commercial sector.
