PACE SUMMER SESSION FOCUSES ON ISLAM
Baku, June 24 (AzerTAc). The Islam, Islamism and Islamophobia in Europe report aroused keen interest at a summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in Strasbourg, 21-25 June 2010.
Three-hour long debates on the state of democracy in Europe, reports on the functioning of democratic institutions in Azerbaijan and other issues involved almost 40 delegates. On June 23, Azeri MP-s Rafael Huseynov and Ganira Pashayeva made reports, dwelling on Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan and occupation of Azeri territories. A range of amendments offered by Rafael Huseynov have been included into the resolution on Islam, Islamism and Islamophobia in Europe report.
