UK: Yemen`s security and political problems due to economic conditions

SANA'A, June 23 (Saba)- British Minister of State for Middle East and =
South Africa Affairs Alistair
Burt said on Wednesday that the security and political problems faced by =
Yemen are due to economic conditions.
The British minister pointed out Britain and its friends will work to =
help Yemen to address the challenges, which would be reflected =
positively on the stability in Yemen
and the region.
This came during Yemeni-British talks held here and chaired by Foreign =
Minster Abu Bakr al-Qribi and the British Minister.
The talks dealt with areas of bilateral cooperation between Yemen and =
the UK in the field of development support and the security cooperation =
as well as the progress in
the process of Yemen's Friends since its launch in London on January 27, =
2010.
The British minister affirmed his government's keenness to push forward =
the bilateral relations between the two countries and to continue its =
support to Yemen through Yemen's
Friends Group.
For his part, al-Qirbi voiced Yemen's appreciation for the UK's =
supportive positions to Yemen.
"The visit of the British Minister of State to Yemen is an evidence for =
a real move to support Yemen to face the development challenges and =
extremism and to implement the
national agenda for reforms ", al-Qirbi said, adding that the visit =
reflects the strength of relations between the two friendly countries.
