LEYLA ALIYEVA`S INITIATIVE WELCOMED BY BALKAN YOUNG LEADERS
Baku, June 23 (AzerTAc). An international conference on the South-East cooperation process wrapped up at Grand Javahir hotel in Istanbul, an Istanbul-based Islamic Conference Youth Forum reported.
The conference was organized by the Turkey-led South East European Co-operation Process (SEECP), COJEP Europe`s leading youth organization, CoE and European Youth Forum, Islamic Conference Youth Forum.
The main objective of the event is to enhance the role of youth in the development of good-neighborly relations among Balkan countries.
The conference has brought together delegates from Greece, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia and other countries of the Balkan region. Secretary General of Islamic Conference Youth Forum Elshad Isgandarov, COJEP Vice-President Veysel Filiz addressed the event.
The conference`s session on the role of youth in the settlement of conflicts focused on humanitarian disasters. Addressing the session, Justice for Khojaly campaign`s national coordinator in Lithuania Eva Lukosevikiuyte briefed the participants on the follow-up to the campaign since 2008.
The proposal to conduct the campaign in South-east European countries as well as mechanisms of the activity of the South-East European youth network established during the conference were reflected in the final Istanbul declaration.
The Justice for Khojaly campaign was initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, General Coordinator of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation.
