OSCE MINSK GROUP IS BEST FORMAT FOR NAGORNO-KARABAKH CONFLICT RESOLUTION, GERMAN CHANCELLOR
Ankara, June 23 (AzerTAc). The best format for Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution is the OSCE Minsk Group format, German Chancellor Angela Merkel told a joint news conference with President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.
Mrs. Merkel said she kept a close eye on Karabakh conflict resolution process. The German Chancellor noted she had been informed that Russian President Dmitry Medvedev initiated a trilateral meeting with his Azerbaijani and Armenian counterparts.
“We think the advancement in the frames of Minsk Group is the best way,” Mrs. Merkel said.
Talking about the Armenian-Turkish rapprochement process, the German Chancellor said resolving the Karabakh problem could help normalize the Armenian-Turkish ties.
She said her country supports efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs towards the conflict resolution.
