Bill Clinton to visit Australia

Former US president Bill Clinton will visit Australia to speak about the plight of
disadvantaged women and children.
Mr Clinton will appear at a forum which is holding events in Brisbane and Sydney in
November and he will speak in both cities.
The Asian Pacific Global Issues Forum has been organised by Red Brick Development, a
private company with interests in energy and infrastructure.
A spokeswoman for the forum said it would focus on helping women and children in
both the developing and developed world, across the Asia-Pacific.
Mr Clinton's wife, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, is also expected to visit
Australia towards the end of this year, for defence talks. It is not known if her
visit will coincide with Mr Clinton's.
He has maintained an active public role, speaking on the global lecture circuit and
working as the UN special envoy to earthquake-hit Haiti.
