STATE SECRETARY PARTICIPATES IN MINISTERIAL FORUM


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A delegation headed by D.Tsogtbaatar, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the Ministerial Forum of the OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Program, that was held June 17-18 in Paris, France.
The forum brought together Ch.Khashchuluun, a head of the Committee of National Development and Reform; Z.Battushig, a deputy head of the Foreign Investment Department; Ministers from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, and representatives of the OECD members and other international organizations.
The main purposes of the OECD Eurasia Competitiveness Program are to refine upon the investment environment of central Asian countries by giving policy recommendations, improve their competitiveness and to support the development of small- and middle-sized production.
The State Secretary Tsogtbaatar introduced to the gathered economic and investment environment of Mongolia and underlined that Mongolia is attaching a great importance to a research into competitiveness which is expected in frames of the program.
During the forum, D.Tsogtbaatar met with Mr. Richard Boucher, Deputy Secretary-General of the OECD. They spoke about the program's research and studying of a possibility to specialize Mongolia's economy by expanding this research.
The same day, D.Tsogtbaatar took part in a round table meeting organized by the Movement of the French Enterprises (MEDEF). It attracted representatives of some 20 enterprisers of France. He introduced to them the investment environment, conditions and opportunities in Mongolia.
Bilateral meetings were held as well.
