FRENCH AMBASSADOR AWARDED "FRIENDSHIP" MEDAL


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to Mongolia Mr. Jean-Paul Dumont has been awarded the "Friendship" medal for his significant contribution to development of the Mongolia-France relations and cooperation. A decree about awarding as such was issued by the President Ts.Elbegdorj June 22 on occasion of the 45th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations.
Mr. Dumont graduated the Oriental Linguistics Institute in France in 1971 majoring in oriental studies, speaks English, Chinese, Russian, Portuguese and Vietnamese languages. He started his career in diplomatic service with working in the Embassy of France in Mongolia in 1971-1975. From 1975, he worked in the Departments of Treaty and Law, Consul, and Asia-Pacific Affairs in France's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Dumont worked in the French Embassies and Consulates in the USA, Vietnam, Brazil, Belgium. He also represented his country to the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
On July 2009, Mr. Dumont was appointed the Ambassador to Mongolia.
