KHAZAR-LANKARAN HANDED DISAPPOINTING 0-1 HOME DEFEAT BY LECH

Baku, 18 July,(AzerTAj) - Azerbaijani Khazar-Lankaran lost 0-1 to Polish Lech in the first match of UEFA cup qualifying round at the Tofig Bahramov stadium in Baku.

The visitors came closest in the 27th minute when they were unlucky to hit the woodwork. Three minutes later Hernan Renfigo found himself one-on-one with the hosts` goalkeeper, but Dmitry Kramarenko did well to stop him.

Lech took a lead in the 76th minute after a brilliant combination which ended with a superb strike from Robert Levandovsky.

Khazar-Lankaran battled for the rest of the game to find an equalizer, but there was nothing the hosts` strikers could do about Lech`s defense.

The clubs will lock horns in a tough return encounter in Poland on June 31.
