ANKARA, June 21 (Itar-Tass) -- Turkey and Kazakhstan have agreed to
elaborate a joint plan of actions to render assistance to violence-hit
Kyrgyzstan, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who is currently
staying on a working visit to Kazakhstan, told the Anatolian News Agency
in Astana on Monday.
These agreements will be implemented within the OSCE currently chaired
by Kazakhstan and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building
Measures in Asia (CICA) at present headed by Turkey.
According to the Turkish foreign minister, his talks with Kazakh
President Nursultan Nazarbayev focused on "basic elements of this plan."
"We dwelled on the diplomatic and economic aspects of our steps and on
issues of security. It will be the subject of further discussion with
other friendly countries," he said.
He also said he planned to visit Kyrgyzstan with his Kazakh
counterpart Kanat Saudabayev to see what could be done to start
implementing their plan.
After Turkish citizens were evacuated from Kyrgyzstan, a group of
representatives from security agencies, diplomatic and business circles
were sent to Bishkek for talks, he said. The Turkish side also contacted
the authorities in neighbouring Uzbekistan to discuss issues related to
Kyrgyz refugees. "We offered our help to the forced re-settlers. If the
Uzbek authorities need it we shall start acting immediately," Davutoglu
stressed.
