Iran advises adversaries to take lesson from Rigi's execution

Tehran, June 21, IRNA -- Iran on Sunday advised the adversaries -- the US and Britain -- to take lesson from terrorist Abdulmalek Rigi's execution and give up terrorist measures against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Head of the Majlis Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy Alaeddin Boroujerdi said on Sunday that the United States, Britain and Pakistan whose intelligent services backed Abdulmalek Rigi should give up terrorist measures against Iran.
Speaking to IRNA, he said Rigi’s hanging is not a simple issue, rather it should be taken an example of Iranian campaign against terrorism backed by the US.
"The arrest and hanging of the ringleader of a terrorist group is a good sign to failure of defeated policies of global arrogance vis-a-vis the Islamic Republic of Iran," he said.
Boroujerdi said that the supports rendered by the US for terrorists in the region indicate that they are masterminding various plots to implement their ill-wishes in the region.
Upon a verdict issued by the Tehran Islamic Revolution Court, Abdulmalek Rigi was hanged on Sunday morning.
Rigi was sentenced to death on 79 counts of terrorist crimes.
Washington backed Rigi who was ringleader of a terrorist armed group in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan.
He committed armed robbery, planted bombs, attacked the police and military forces, masterminded and created terror, and pleaded guilty for liaison with aliens.
He was arrested on February 23, when he was flying from Dubai to Kyrgyzstan./end
