Al-Lawzi: Investigation underway on Aden intelligence office attack
SANA'A, June 20
(Saba)- Minister of Information Hasan al-Lawiz affirmed on Sunday that Yemen is a
partner
for the international community in all plans and operations set to target terrorism,
and the country is launching a war on terror elements.
In response to a question by Al Arabiya Satellite Channel over the armed attack of
Al-Qaeda system in Yemen against the Political Security Office in Aden, he pointed
out
that there is a higher committee, chaired by Chairman of the Political Security
System and Deputy Interior Minister Ghalib al-Qamish, investigating the incident to
find out
all specifics of the attack.
He noted that the terror attack was sudden in the city of Aden which enjoys all
security and stability elements.
"We go to Aden and move through its streets without guards and arms, but what has
happened was abrupt and unexpected in a civil city like Aden as all arms carrying
phenomena
are absolutely banned," the minister said.
As for the security situation in Yemen and the exerted efforts in counterterrorism,
the minister made clear that the country and its people are fighting against
terrorist
acts and Al-Qaeda in particular, indicating that the war against terror will not
come to an end until all set purposes in the security plans are met.
