West's disinformation about Islam has failed: Culture Minister

Tehran, June 20, IRNA –- Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini said here on Sunday that all the West’s disinformation attempts about Islam and the religious teachings have failed.
He made the remark while addressing the first international conference of the Islamic World’s Publishers which started in Tehran this morning in the presence of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
He called on the Islamic world’s committed publishers to pave the way for further vigilance of the Muslim nations.
The minister voiced Tehran’s readiness to cooperate with all Muslim states to materialize the cultural objectives and aspirations of the world of Islam.
Hosseini underlined the need for consolidation of the exiting cooperation among the Islamic publishers across the world.
The two-day conference is attended by publishers from 32 Islamic states.
Five expert panels are to be held on the sidelines of the conference to discuss situation of electronic publishing in the Islamic world, publishing of the Holy Quran as well as rights of Muslim authors, publishers and translators./end
