Vahidi: Iran’s missiles power of deterrent nature
Tehran, June 20, IRNA - Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said on Saturday that Iran’s missile capability is of deterrent nature and poses no threats to others.
Vahidi made the remarks in response to recent allegations made by US Defense Secretary Robert Gates who said “Iran could, if it wanted, launch scores even hundreds of missiles into Europe.”
The US is to broaden the scope of its domination over Europe, he said, adding that to attain its sinister goal the US udner various excuses such as destruction of nuclear weapons in the region and putting pressure on Russia has launched such a propaganda campaign, Vahidi said.
The US tries to humiliate Russia and create rifts among countries of the region to weaken their statues, he underlined.
US foreign policy is based on warmongering, breaking pledges and creating crises and rifts, he said, adding that the policy would bring it more hatred and total annihilation.
Russia should not fall into the trap of teh US psychological warfare, he said, adding that history is a good evidence that the US does not seek restoration of peace and security and pays no attention to interests of world nations.
The Americans never hesitate to victimize their close allies to attain their sinister goals, he said.
