WCD's Second Session focuses on "Dialogue and Its Importance to


Madrid, July 18 (SPA) - The Second session of the International
Conference on Dialogue discussed here today aspects of Dialogue and
Its Importance to Human Society.

The session was held under the chairmanship of Dr Salih bin Humaid,
the Chairman of the Saudi Shoura (Consultative) Council.

Nichiko Niwano, President of the world parliament for religion and
peace in Japan, called for narrowing the gap among the nations.

He noted that the effective dialogue is based on the respect of the
peculiarities of others.

Niwano said there are common grounds among religions and
philosophies.

He praised the speech delivered by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz at
the conference's inaugural session.

Dr Abdel-Hadi Al-Tazi, the member of the Moroccan academy, delivered
a paper on dialogue and its impact on the international relations.

Former Speaker of the Philippine House of Representatives Jose De
Venecia spoke about the role of the religions in spreading morals in
the world.

He noted that the heavenly religions, cultures and civilizations
advocate adherence to the good values and to refrain from committing
crime, vice and corruption, and so it is important to resort to the
religion and to enable it play its role in the reform of the society.

He urged the followers of the religions to cooperate for enhancing
the good values.
