HURRIYET DAILY NEWS EDITOR-IN-CHIEF HOLDS PRESS CONFERENCE

Baku, June 19 (AzerTAc). Editor-in-chief of the Turkey-based Hurriyet Daily News newspaper David Judson held Friday a press conference at the Center for Strategic Studies under the Azerbaijan President.
Judson highlighted the current state of Turkish media, problems and ways of solving them.
He said the main purpose of the visit was to explore the ways for press cooperation.
Asked about a report published in his newspaper which had presented the Nagorno-Karabakh region as a disputed territory, Judson called it as an “mistaken article”. He said the Nagorno Karabakh is not a disputed, but an occupied territory.
“No country doubts the fact of occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh. International organizations have confirmed this fact, as well. That is why we issued a rebuttal and corrected our mistake.”
Judson underlined media outlets must be more responsible when they issue reports on sensitive issues.
