Vietnam’s effort to make Iran, ASEAN closer

Kuala Lumpur, June 19, IRNA – Foreign Minister of Vietnam Pham Gia Khiem said Saturday his country spares no effort in making Iran and the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) closer.
Khiem made the remarks in his meeting with visiting Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia and Pacific Affairs Mohammad-Ali Fat'hollahi.
The Vietnamese foreign minister said his country is determined to promote all-out relations in various fields including trade and economy with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Fat'hollahi, for his part, said the global recession as well as the economic problems worldwide can stimulate cooperation among the Asian states.
Iran’s deputy foreign minister is visiting Vietnam to attend the sixth meeting of joint economic commission between Tehran and Hanoi.
During his visit to that country, Fat'hollahi has also conferred with the Vietnamese deputy industry minister on the issues of trade cooperation./end
