RF embassy says Russian citizens are among refugees from Kyrgyzstan.

TASHKENT, June 17 (Itar-Tass) - There are Russian citizens among
refugees who have fled from Kyrgyzstan's violence-hit Osh and Jalal-Abad
region to neighbouring Uzbekistan, the Russian embassy in Tashkent said in
its statement on Thursday.
According to the embassy, a working group of Russian diplomats was
sent to Uzbekistan's Andizhan region to specify the number of Russian
citizens in refugee camps.
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian
Affairs, Uzbekistan received 9,000 refugees from Kyrgyzstan on June 16
alone, while the total number of Kyrgyz refugees exceeds 100,000.
The bulk of the refugees - 80,000 - have found shelter in the Andizhan
region. There are 8,559 refugees in the Fergana region, and 3,474 - in the
Namangan region. The majority of refuges are housed at 48 camps in
Andizhan region's districts - Khabad, Jalakuduk, Markhamat, Khojaabad,
Pakhtaabad, and Kurgantepe.
In the Fergana Valley, refugees are housed at local schools, which are
closed for summer holidays. Local authorities are establishing more camps
for refugees at sports facilities and cotton warehouses.
