TURKISH FOREIGN MINISTRY SAYS ISRAEL'S COMMISSION DOES NOT MEET EXPECTATIONS

OSLO (A.A) - 15.06.2010 - Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the commission established by Israel to investigate the attack on the six-ship flotilla carrying aid to Gaza met neither Turkey's nor international community's expectations.
Burak Ozugergin, spokesman for the Ministry who is currently in Norway with Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, told reporters, "this commission met neither Turkey's nor international community's expectations. One of persons who will join the commission as an international observer is already the chairman of Israel's Friends Group established to protect Israel's image and rights in Europe."
"And the judge who is claimed to lead the commission is a person who has defended from the very beginning that there is no need for an investigation. All those contradict the UN proposal about establishment of an international, independent and impartial commission. Our expectation is creation of such a commission," he added.
