WINNERS OF "GREEN ENVIRONMENT-OUR FUTURE" PROGRAM NAMED

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ In frames of the "Green environment--Our future" program, five kinds of nationwide contests were announced among students of secondary schools. The winners were announced June 05--the World Environmental Day, after the 3-phased contests continued for over a month. The news was sounded Tuesday by the Khan Bank's website.
The winners from Ulaanbaatar received prizes at the ceremony of "Green Awards 2010" held at the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI). During the ceremony, an exhibition of best artworks was mounted.
Some 8,500 secondary school pupils from 21 provinces and the capital city participated in the contests such as essay competitions titled "Freehand sketch", "Booklets", "Green environment - Development gateway" and "Voice of a real leader who loves his green world" elocution contest. Over 10 thousand artworks of children have come from all over the nation. Commission comprised of the program implementing organizations in province, district and nationwide levels as well as expert representatives worked as judges for the contests.
The winners were awarded with certificates, gifts and cash prizes and a right to spend their vacation in an eco-friendly children's camp this summer. They will be involved in environment protection training in addition to becoming "Ecological Messenger".
The "Green environment-Our future" program aims to develop environmental protection awareness and to create approaches to use natural reserves properly among children and youth through their participation. It is co-implemented by Khan Bank Foundation, the MNCCI, the Environmental Information and Training Center, Heritage Association NGO under the patronage of Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism.
