West in effort to limit Iran ties, but in vain : Minister

Singapore, June 14, IRNA – Iran’s minister of commerce said here on Monday that despite some Western states’ efforts to limit Iran's trade exchanges with other countries, the private sectors in Asia and Europe are not keen on Iran’s sanctions.

Talking to IRNA, Mehdi Ghazanfari made the remarks, while referring to the recent anti-Iran resolution issued by the UN Security Council, on the sidelines of an economic meeting attended by officials from Singapore's private and public sectors.

He added the Islamic Republic of Iran attaches importance to its economic relations with Singapore and foreign investors including ones from Singapore are willing to make investments in Iran's economic projects.

The Iranian minister also said Singapore’s trade officials have expressed their readiness to develop relations with Iran.

During his two-day stay, Ghazanfari is due to meet with his counterpart from Singapore./end
