Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ In the first 5 months of 2010, 9.2 mln.head or 48.4 percent of total breeding stock at the beginning of the year, gave birth.
Survival of young animals amounted to 6,709.5 thous.head or 72.8 percent of the young animals born, down by 5,777.5 thous.head or 1.9 times against the same period of the previous year.
In the first 5 months of 2010, 8,821.0 thous.adult animals, equalling to 20.0 percent of total livestock at beginning of the year, was lost. Out of these losses, 7.6 thous.heads were camels, 298.0 thous.heads were horses, 501.8 thous.heads--cows, 3,636.6 thous.heads--sheeps and 4,377.0 thous.heads--goats. A majority--49,6 percent-- of the adult animals lost were goats.
