CZECH AMBASSADOR VISITS REGION OF AZERBAIJAN

Tovuz, June 13 (AzerTAc). Czech ambassador to Azerbaijan Radek Matula visited the Tovuz region of Azerbaijan at the initiative of Azeri MP Ganira Pashayeva.
The diplomat saw a map of Azerbaijan and visited the Alley of Martyrs.
Matula met with Head of Tovuz authorities Tofig Zeynalov who provided information about the region`s strategic importance, economy, tourism potential.
Ambassador noted it would be fruitful if Czech businessmen could work not only in Baku but also in regions.
The Czech diplomat noted he supports peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict based on international legal principles.
Following a meeting, he saw the Heydar Aliyev Museum.
Matula visited the Alibeyli and Agdam villages bordering Armenia where he saw houses and schools shattered by Armenian soldiers` gunfire.
The ambassador talked to wounded villagers.
He visited a military unit here to meet troops.
The Czech diplomat became familiar with the production enterprises in Tovuz.
Ganira Pashayeva noted Czech ambassadaor`s visiting the region is important since this country has always supported Azerbaijan as a NATO and EU member.
