Cyprus business delegation to Moscow to attract Russian financiers.
NICOSIA, June 14 (Itar-Tass) -- Cyprus considers Russia as a strategic
partner and pledges that the country is Russia's reliable friend in Europe
and in all European institutions, in which Cyprus is a member-country,
Cypriot Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism Antonis Paschalides
told Itar-Tass. He will head a delegation of the Cyprus Chamber of
Commerce and Industry that will arrive in Moscow on Monday.
The delegation includes about 30 businessmen and experts mainly
engaged in financial services and the legal support for banking and
commercial transactions. At the invitation of the Russian Chamber of
Commerce and Industry the Cypriot delegation will participate in two
seminars, which will be held in Moscow on Tuesday and in Rostov-on-Don on
Thursday.
.Days of Czech Republic to open in Tatarstan.
KAZAN, June 14 (Itar-Tass) -- The Days of the Czech Republic in Russia
will open in Tatarstan on Monday. A Czech business delegation headed by
President of the Senate of the Czech parliament Premysl Sobotka arrived in
Kazan, spokesperson for the Tatar State Council Rezida Makuyeva told
Itar-Tass.
Premysl Sobotka will meet with Tatar President Rustam Minnikhanov at
the Kazan Kremlin on Monday. The sides will discuss ways to broaden trade
and economic and cultural cooperation between the Czech Republic and the
Russian Republic of Tatarstan, the Tatar presidential press service
reported.
A Tatar-Czech economic forum will open at the Korston business center
on Tuesday. The chief executives of industrial enterprises and
organizations of the Czech Republic and Tatarstan will participate in the
forum. A presentation of Tatar investment projects will be held.
At the forum the Czech company FAVEA engineering, the Tatar state
holding Tatneftekhiminvest and the Tatar pharmaceutical company
Tatchempharmpreparaty will sign a trilateral agreement to launch a
pharmaceutical production in Tatarstan, Tatar Minister of Industry and
Trade Ravil Zaripov said.
.New governor of Rostov region to be inaugurated.
ROSTOV-ON-DON, June 14 (Itar-Tass) - Vasily Golubev will be
inaugurated as governor of the Rostov Region here on Monday. He will be
sworn in at the Rostov musical theatre.
President Dmitry Medvedev nominated Golubev for governor and regional
lawmakers approved him as governor on May 21. Incumbent Governor Vladimir
Chub, who had headed the region since 1991, expired his term in office on
June 14.
Vasily Golubev was born in 1957 in the village of Yermakovsky,
Tatsinka district of the Rostov Region. He lived and worked in the Moscow
Region for the past 35 years. He has worked as the chief executive in the
Leninsky district of the Moscow Region until recently. He is married and
has two children.
.Major Polish presidential candidates call for closer coop with RF.
WARSAW, June 14 (Itar-Tass) -- Major Polish presidential candidates
called for closer cooperation with Russia at the election debates. The
local television broadcast the debates between the major Polish political
rivals on Sunday evening.
"We should build up our relations with Moscow," Acting President
Bronislaw Komorowski, who is also a presidential candidate from the ruling
Civic Platform party, noted. In his view, Polish-Russian reconciliation is
possible and "this opportunity should turn in real relations between the
countries."
A presidential candidate from the major opposition Law and Justice
Party and twin brother of the late president Lech Kaczynski, Jaroslaw
Kaczynski also believes that Poland should take advantage of an
opportunity to improve the relations with Russia.
"We should look for friends nearby. This is such countries as Russia,
Ukraine and Germany, with which we should establish very good contacts,"
the leader of the Democratic Left Alliance, Grzegorz Napieralski, said.
"We should seek reconciliation with Russia at all levels," he added.
Meanwhile, the major presidential candidates agreed that Poland should
focus its foreign policy on the cooperation with NATO, the United States
and the European Union.
The early presidential elections will be held in Poland on June 20.
The early presidential elections were announced after the tragic decease
of President Lech Kaczynski in the air crash near Smolensk.
The latest poll conducted by the Homo Homini sociological center
showed that Bronislaw Komorowski has the highest rating among all
presidential candidates. Some 41.3% of voters are ready to support
Komorowski, 32.7% - Jaroslaw Kaczynski and 10.5% - Grzegorz Napieralski.
