FOUR MINERS KILLED IN PHOSPHATE LANDSLIDE

Pati, C Java, July 17 (ANTARA)- Four phosphate miners were found dead after a phosphate landslide buried them alive in Dukuh Pencil village, Kayen subdistrict, Pati district, Central Java on Wednesday at 3 p.m. local time.

The victims were identified as Yatmi (50), Suharmi (35), Sukarmi (35) and Naryo (35), said Syukur (55), a witness said here on Wednesday.

The witness said the accident happened about 25 meters from the mine where he was working. "But I failed to help them because the accident occurred so fast," he said.

According to him, Jumari, Suharmi's husband, tried to pull his wife's hand, but failed to save his wife when the phosphate landslide fell from a height of 30 meters.
