Russia, Afghanistan's fighting terrorism to be more consolidated.

TASHKENT, June 11 (Itar-Tass) -- The efforts of Russia and Afghanistan to fight with terrorism should be more consolidated, Russia's President Dmitry Medvedev said over the meeting with Afghanistan's counterpart Hamid Karzai on Friday.

"I am happy to meet with you once again, though our meeting is
darkened by the recent terror act in Afghanistan," he said. "Please accept
my condolences."
"This is another proof that our efforts to prevent events of this kind
should be more consolidated," Medvedev said. "We are prepared to develop
cooperation with Afghanistan in this sphere in future."
Russia would like to see Afghanistan as a "stable state, where rights
and freedoms are observed, and where life and other normal standards are
guaranteed to the nation," he said.
"We are ready to assist Afghanistan in the framework of our
possibilities to achieve these targets," he said.
Medvedev expressed hope to have another meeting with Afghanistan's
president in near future to continue the bilateral negotiations.
Karzai, in his turn, said that "Russia and Afghanistan can and should
do a lot together."
He appreciated Medvedev's position, voiced over the SCO summit,
regarding Afghanistan and for the support measures Russia undertakes.
