HOUSE READY TO ASSIST KPK IN PROBING LEGISLATOR FEISAL
Jakarta, July 17 (ANTARA) - House of Representtaives (DPR) Speaker Agung Laksono said the House was ready to assist the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in its investigation of legislator Yusuf Emir Feisal who was arrested in a gratification case and he hoped what had happened would be a lesson to all lawmakers not to misuse their position.
"We will say, KPK go ahead, and investigate the case," Laksono said at the parliament building on Wednesday commenting on Feisal's arrest on Tuesday for allegedly receiving gratification money for the conversion of a mangrove forest area in Tanjung Api-api, South Sumatra.
He said the House was ready to give the KPK all the assistance needed for its investigation, including allowing the KPK to search Feisal's office in the parliament building if needed to collect evidence.
KPK agents on Tuesday searched Feisal's residence in Giri Loka in the Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) complex in Tangerang district, Banten province, where they seized a number of documents.
They also took Feisal, a former chairman of the House'a Commission IV and a member of the Nation's Awakening Party (PKB) faction, to the KPK office for questioning.
