Ship flying Cambodia flag detained in Sea of Okhotsk for poaching

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, June 11 (Itar-Tass) - The fishing schooner
Malle flying the Cambodian flag has been detained in the Sea of Okhotsk
after a more than two-hour pursuit, the public relations group of the
North Eastern coast guard department of the Federal Security Service of
Russia (FSB) told Itar-Tass on Friday.
The violator was spotted in the fishing area by the Askold Pynko
patrol vessel on June 10. The schooner was in the Russian waters without
identification signs. When it became clear that the ship is unable to
escape the captain stopped the vessel and took on board the inspector
group.
It has been established that the schooner's homeport is Phnom Penh.
The crew comprises 8 RF citizens, 6 Chinese and 1 Korean. About 15 tonnes
of products made from snow crab were found in the vessel's holds. The
captain failed to produce documents for the cargo and the permission for
fishing.
The vessel and all the products on board have been arrested. An
administrative offence case has been opened against the captain. The
violator vessel is escorted to Magadan port for the investigation.
