China looking forward to Medvedev`s visit in Sept 2010 - Hu.
TASHKENT, June 10 (Itar-Tass) - China is looking forward to Russian
President Dmitry Medvedev's visit to the country in September 2010,
Chinese President Hu Jintao said on Thursday.
"Your September visit is a major event in our relations," the Chinese
leader said at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev in
Tashkent. The presidents of Russia and China arrived in the Uzbek capital
to participate in a SCO summit.
For his part, Medvedev noted that the year of 2010 is intensive with
the events in Russian-Chinese relations, particularly frequent meetings
between the leaders of the countries.
"Our current meeting is the third one, but far from being the last
one. We will meet soon again to discuss economic development and the
situation in the world. These negotiations will continue during my visit
to China due this autumn," the Russian president pointed out.
Medvedev noted that he is very glad to meet again with Hu Jintao. The
meeting will give an opportunity "to exchange the information on the
development of bilateral relations and the situation in the world."
Medvedev also emphasized that at the current meeting the leaders of
Russia and China could discuss regional issues. "There is a scope of
problems, which had emerged recently and on which Russia and China are
maintaining the direct dialogue, we are having consultations," the Russian
president said, adding that he considers very important to synchronize
positions with Beijing on the international agenda.
Hu Jintao also proposed to discuss the issues related to Medvedev's
forthcoming visit to China and a meeting between the prime ministers of
the countries. "It is necessary to plan and organize your visit properly
and to hold a 15th regional meeting of the prime ministers in order to
maintain dynamics of rapidly growing Russian-Chinese relations," the
Chinese president said.
Hu noted that he had already instructed Chinese agencies concerned "to
maintain the closest contacts with Russian colleagues in order to secure a
full success" of these events.
"We should pool efforts to achieve better results in trade, the energy
sector, military technologies and interregional cooperation," Hu Jintao
indicated.
The leaders of the countries also agreed that the Year of the Chinese
Language in Russia should be held at the high level in 2010.
Hu Jintao also thanked Medvedev for an opportunity to attend the
Moscow celebrations on the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Second
World War and congratulated the Russian people on Russia's Day celebrated
on June 12.
