USA KEEN ON ENHANCING PARTNERSHIP WITH YEMEN: OBAMA SAYS

SANA'A, June 09 (Saba) - The US President Barack Obama asserted on
Wednesday the USA's keenness on enhancing partnership with Yemen,
particularly in economic area.

In a letter President Ali Abdullah Saleh received, President Obama
said that the US is keen on mobilizing the international support via
Yemen's Friends Group, World Bank and International Monetary Fund to
prop up Yemen's efforts in economic and development areas.

In the letter handed over by the US Deputy Secretary of the Treasury
Neil Wolin, the American president accentuated that Yemen's security
and stability is vital for the USA, region and world.

He saluted Yemen's efforts to combat terrorism and the joint
cooperation between Yemen and the USA.

During his meeting with the US official, President Saleh hailed the
current partnership between Yemen and the USA, highlighting the bad
impacts of the terrorism acts on the economic situation in Yemen.

Saleh talked about the steps Yemen has made in area of economic
reform, stressing that efforts in this regard will carry on.
