Yemen, FAO discuss preparing field study on needs of displaced
HAJJAH, June 07
(Saba) - Hajjah Governor Farid Mujawar discussed here on Monday with the UN Food and
Agriculture
Organization (FAO)'s mission the possibility of preparing a field study on the needs
of displaced people due to the rebellion war in Saada.
The two sides reviewed the possibility of accessing to the poorest displaced people
and their areas with the aim of helping them and developing their agricultural and
livestock
activities.
They dealt with a number of issues relating to the humanitarian situation of the
displaced persons in al-Merzaq camps, Hajjah province, and their desire to return
to their
homes after the war ended.
Mujawar praised the mission's initiative, pointing that the local authority in the
province would work to facilitate all difficulties for the mission to carry out its
functions
and would provide it with all information on the displaced situations and their
whereabouts.
For his part, the FOA's resident- representative Fuad al-Domi said that this visits
aims to collect information about the situation of displaced people in the camps
and
those who returned their homes and therefore show the results to donors to finance
projects.
The study would be implemented in coordination with the active organizations in the
camps, al-Domi pointed out, noting that the mission's visit would last for three
days.
