EU GIVES AID OF EUR 2 MILLION TO MONGOLIA

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The European Union has decided to render aid of EUR 2 million to Mongolia for dealing with the consequences of the zud disaster that struck the counrty 2009-2010 winter. An official note on the decision was sent June 4 to the Embassy of Mongolia in Brussels, the Kingdom of Belgium.
In the note, the EU has reaffirmed its willingness to deepen the bilateral and regional cooperation with Mongolia. The EU always observes Mongolia that maintains its way of development with the democracy, human rights and free market ,and fully supports Mongolia's policy to introduce the European standards, principles and norms. The European Commission, who carefully observed the zud disaster and its consequences in our county, gave EUR 150 thousand in January of 2010.
The additional EUR 2 million is dedicated to ensuring food safety, livelihood and health of the herder families who greatly suffered from the disaster this winter.
