DEMPARTY'S FACTION MEETS


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Head of the faction of the Democratic Party (DP) at the State Great Khural Ch.Saikhanbileg gave Monday a report on matters discussed at a regular meeting of the DP's faction.
The faction's meeting considered issues on altering the law on mineral resources and on a draft resolution of parliament concerning exploiting the Tavan tolgoi coal deposit. Then, the faction set up an eight-member working group with the obligation of working out a proposal and conclusion about the exploitation of the Tavan tolgoi deposit. Last Friday, a regular meeting of the DP's faction heard a report from the Premier on the exploitation of the deposit. The faction's members clarified all necessary information from the Prime Minister.
The next important agenda of the faction's meeting is a draft amendment to the law on budget of 2010. A leader of a working group Ch.Ulaan, which was set up in respect of an order of the Speaker gave a related report.
Ch.Saikhanbileg noted that the upcoming cabinet meeting might discuss an issue on cash allowance for children. According to him, the DP's faction has a position to consider as necessary to tackle the matter on children's allowance prior to approve the budget clarification. In addition to it, the faction's meeting agreed on the matter to receive loans of USD 20 million dedicated to the “Financing of developmental policy-2” program, and USD 12 million of technical assistance for many sectors.
In conjunction with starting to discuss the unified budget performance at parliament, the DP set up a working group to draw up a related proposal and conclusion. The State Great Khural plans to discuss four draft amendments to the laws on mineral resources. The first draft amendment is about the payment for exploitation of growing mineral resources. Apart of this draft amendment, there are two draft laws initiated by MPs D.Gankhuyag and N.Batbayar, and another draft law on regulation of matters concerning the people who extract mineral resources. A working group has been set up as well to work out related conclusions.
